The Twins First Christmas and Winter Diving!

Ewan and Eileen enjoyed their first Christmas. Actual Christmas day was spent on Vancouver Island with my family, but we got some photos of Eileen and Ewan opening gifts at our house back in Calgary. Kyle carried on his family’s tradition of preparing a venison tourtière for Christmas Eve dinner, and Grandma Shivas made an Acadian Chicken Fricot. Christmas Day was full of family, fun and good food. There were 14 of us at Christmas family dinner. We had a great time!

Over the Christmas break we indulged in lots of seafood and chocolate. Kyle and I also spent a day on the ocean diving while Grandma and Grandpa Shivas took care of the babies. I also spent a morning at a local salon getting my hair cut.

We spent a night out with Heather, Brad, Allison and Sandy participating in an escape room, we made it out with 40 seconds to spare! Afterwards we had drinks and snacks at Alli and Sandy’s house. It’s really special being able to spend time with my cousins and their husbands.

Here are a couple of small, lower resolution clips from the video we captured while diving. The sea lions were incredibly playful and inquisitive. They would bite you all over the way that a puppy does, not with malicious intent, but enough that you felt it. We also did a wreck dive in 107ft of water at Deep Bay where we saw a nudibranch and an octopus.

It was a great trip!

    1. Thanks, 107 feet is nearly double what we are certified for and nearly double the depth we have been to so far (~60 ft) but it was with a certified instructor so he said it was ok and it certainly felt safe enough. Safer than some of our dives in Raja Ampat to be sure.. It sure is dark down there.

  1. We loved having everyone here for Christmas. Thanks for making it special 🙂

  2. Wow, those videos are amazing!
Lovely photos from Christmas, the babies are so cute!
